Data We Collect
When you use CrossBrew, we collect the following information:
- Slack user ID — your unique identifier within Slack
- Display name — your Slack display name at the time of joining
- Email address — provided by you during the join flow, used to facilitate introductions with matches in other workspaces
- Workspace information — the Slack workspace name and team ID where the app is installed
- Match history — a record of past coffee chat pairings to avoid repeat matches
Purpose
The information collected is used solely for facilitating cross-workspace coffee chat matching. Specifically:
- To pair you with colleagues from other Slack workspaces for coffee chats
- To send you direct messages with your match's contact information
- To avoid repeating past matches
Storage and Security
Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS. Bot tokens used to communicate with the Slack API are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption. We apply industry-standard security practices to protect your information.
Third-Party Sharing
We share your information only with the following third parties:
- Slack API — to send messages and retrieve workspace and user information
- Stripe — for billing and subscription management
We do not sell or share your personal information with any other third parties.
Data Retention
Your data is retained while your account is active. Upon request, or 30 days after your workspace uninstalls the app, your data will be deleted from our systems.
Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Delete your data — use the
/crossbrew delete-my-dataslash command at any time to remove your account and all associated data - Request a data export — contact us at support@crossbrew.app to request a copy of your data
U.S. Privacy Compliance
CrossBrew is operated by a Delaware LLC. We are committed to compliance with applicable U.S. privacy laws. California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale.
